Ayesha Afzal

Ayesha Afzal is a researcher currently working at Erlangen National High Performance Computing Center (NHR@FAU). Her job is to come up with novel scientific ideas that assist in finding potential solutions to problems. She finds it fun and exciting to solve complex puzzles and understand the world through research. She is an active speaker at various international conferences and events, where she shares research findings among practitioners. She is an author of diverse peer-reviewed publications, delivers tutorials at research institutes and supervises undergrad and master students. 


She does research in high-performance computing, multi-core and parallel Architectures, parallel programming models, domain-specific languages, modern C++ and template meta-programming. Her PhD research lies at the crossroads of analytical models, tools and parallel simulation frameworks, with a focus on the first-principles performance modelling of distributed-memory parallel programs in high-performance computing.
