Craig Interpolation for Guarded Fragments

We show that the guarded-negation fragment (GNFO) is, in a precise sense, the smallest extension of the guarded fragment (GFO) with Craig interpolation. In contrast, (FO2) with Craig interpolation is full first-order logic.
