In this paper some recent and classical tests of symmetry around known center are modified for the case of unknown center. The unknown center is estimated with α-trimmed mean estimator. The asymptotic behavior of new tests is explored. The local Bahadur approximate efficiency is used to compare them to each other as well as to some other tests.
