Hirad Assimi

Hirad received B.Sc and M.Sc degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Guilan. During these degrees, he gained some experience in optimisation for engineering applications and developed algorithms for optimum engineering design. He also received the Graduate Student Researcher Award of the Year.

He is currently a Higher Degree Research student at Integrated Mining Consortium and PhD candidate at School of Computer Science, University of Adelaide. His PhD focus on optimisation in the upstream processes of the mining value chain. The ultimate aim is to improve mining technology to obtain rapid decision making, minimising the operational and capital costs and reducing environmental impacts in the sector.

His interests include multidisciplinary design optimisation, reliability-based design, renewable energies and intelligent control. He wants to follow his career as a researcher to blend academic knowledge into real-world multidisciplinary problems to conduct research with impact and facilitate collaboration between academic research and industrial applications.
