Mary Scott

I am a fourth year PhD student studying at the Department of Computer Science, University of Warwick, supervised by Graham Cormode and Carsten Maple. I graduated from the Mathematics Institute, University of Warwick, in the summer of 2019 with a BSc in Mathematics. I am a member of the Division of Theory and Foundations where research is concerned with the Design and Analysis of Algorithms, Complexity Theory, Logic, Automata and Formal Verification.

My research area is privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs), specifically Differential Privacy. Over the past two years, I have written and submitted two papers on developing differentially private methods for releasing aggregated multi-dimensional messages, both of which have been accepted. I am currently working on characterising data heterogeneity in the framework of federated learning, in conjunction with the Alan Turing Institute.
