This position involves a wide range of tasks including data management, programming and analysis using both existing national data bases such as the NEDS and newly-collected data from ongoing projects. Specifically, the position involves providing independent and collaborative statistical support including:

Required Qualifications*

Senior Level:


Intermediate Level:
  • Master’s degree in statistics, biostatistics, econometrics, psychometrics, or related field
  • 2 or more years of experience using SAS and Stata or SPSS for database management and statistical analysis
  • Strong programming knowledge using high-level programming language
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Flexibility and ability to work independently and collaboratively with multiple researchers, including physicians and students with varying levels of statistical training
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and efficiently work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Ability to be consistently detail-oriented

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
